The Journey Begins

The Truman Show a wonderful movie about a man who, from birth, is put on television to the world. Unbeknown to him the world watches his first steps, his first Girlfriend, the prom and every single second of the seemingly ordinary mans life. The reality of his life in a reality TV show is eventually realized and he manages to escape. During the last part of the movie, Truman Burbank is given the opportunity to stay and enjoy his artificial life as a hit TV celebrity or to shun his fake world and live a life free from the cameras and fame.

After a quick reality check (double checking my past making sure that there is no way anybody could spend my whole lifetime filming me and convincing my self of the simple fact that I am just a regular no-body) I got to thinking about the whole concept and came to the simple realization that a similar recreation of The Truman Show could be feasible with the technology that we have access to 10 years after the original Truman Show was premiered.

To just write a blog about someone I know who is going through a rough patch now wouldn't be very interesting because a lot of people write about the problems of their day to day life all the time. Instead this person needs to be born into their role. I realize that if this is really going to be a success my "Truman" will need to have their fame thrust upon them the second they enter this world. The implications of what I am setting out to do are daunting but at the same time the unknown is intriguing and the personal questions I ask my self every second this idea grows on me, mostly about the privacy and ethical issues of such an undertaking, are inspiration enough to continue.

So I finish this post now, my mind swimming, hoping that a good nights sleep puts a spirit of the moment idea into perspective. Hoping that the unborn mystery of my blogging universe is out there somewhere and that one day I can introduce you to the unnamed star of my personal Truman Project.
